Books to Screen: World War Z movie release day!

The movie World War Zstarring Brad Pitt, comes out today.  If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the awesome-looking trailer:

The movie is based on the bestselling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks.  It’s an extremely compelling read (I give it 5 stars), though I have no idea how it will translate to the screen.  There isn’t one hero or protagonist, but a slew of fascinating narrators each telling a piece of the story.  I agree with Bridget McGovern’s article on Tor.com Ten Characters I Love (But Don’t Expect To See) in World War Z.  Still, I am definitely going to see this movie (even though it might give me nightmares).

Have you read World War Z yet? Will you see the movie?
