Bookish news #3

A few things have been going on lately that I wanted to mention…

More Potter??!
J.K. Rowling plans to make an announcement concerning the Harry Potter series in a couple of days.  Author Michelle Rowan speculates in this post that it "could be anything from an expansive website about the books, the announcement of an encyclopedia about the world, or something else."  Like Michelle, I’m hoping that it’s a new series set in the Potterverse, but we’ll just have to wait and see.  Go to http://www.pottermore.com/ for the official info when it’s released.

More Seanan McGuire books!

Seanan McGuire, one of my favorite authors, has announced that she has been contracted for books six and seven in the awesome October Daye series as well as the first two books in a new series called InCryptid.  I’m thrilled that we get more Toby, and the description of the InCryptid books sounds interesting too.  More info in her announcement post.

Speaking of Seanan McGuire, Deadline, the second book in the Newsflesh series by Mira Grant (McGuire’s pseudonym) is now out.  The first book blew me away, so naturally I can’t wait to get my hands on Deadline.  If you like urban fantasy or horror and haven’t checked out McGuire’s books, you’re missing out!

More John Green… eventually
John Green has been promising fans and Nerdfighters for weeks that he will shortly be releasing the title of his new book.  The only thing I know about the book at the moment is that it’s narrated by a girl and contains some amount of kissing.  Hopefully we’ll hear more soon, but in the meantime, check out this post from John and this hilarious cartoon on Hank Green’s Tumblr.
